My web adventure game is a haunting and immersive experience set in a dungeon. The game features branching paths that ultimately lead to death, except for one path that leads to victory and the exit from the dungeon.
Throughout the game, players will encounter a variety of mysterious and eerie characters and creatures. Each of these characters has their own unique interactions with minimal dialogue, and personality, adding depth and intrigue to the game. The gargoyle is a figure that stands at the beginning of the dungeon in the first room, while the tied up dog creature seems to be pleading for help. The lambs are trapped in a room in the house of a seemingly dangerous character, and the mannequins act as the aide to the player.
I took inspiration visually from the games in the Dark Souls series. There is also a monster called a mimic that pretends to be a chest full of loot, but inside there is a monster that will eat you. The man in the bathtub is a reference to a RPG game that I played with my friends, where there is a liquid that provides complete euphoria, but is a trap because the player cannot escape.
As players explore the dungeon, they will be challenged to use their intuition and problem-solving skills to navigate the branching paths and find the way to victory. The game is designed to be disorienting and confusing, keeping players engaged and on edge.
One of the core themes of the game is the idea of choice and consequence. The branching paths and multiple dead ends highlight the importance of making wise choices and considering the consequences of one's actions.
Overall, my web adventure game is a thrilling and immersive experience that is sure to captivate and challenge players. With its mysterious and sometimes unsettling characters and creatures, branching paths, and emphasis on choice and consequence, I hope that players will find themselves fully immersed in this dark and foreboding dungeon. I was very inspired while making this game and I may expand it, making it it's own thing off of Wix's website. One of my friends who knows HTML offered to help me expand and move the game elsewhere.
